Who Rise & Shine Supports
Rise & Shine supports children and youth on the North Shore whose families are experiencing financial hardship due to:
- Food insecurity
- Job loss
- High cost of living
- Newcomer or refugee settlement
- Illness or recovery
- Single-parent responsibilities
- Other significant challenges
We believe that every child deserves the chance to rise and shine regardless of their circumstances.
How the Program Works
Children Are Identified Through Trusted Partners
- We partner with:
- School counsellors
- Teachers
- Settlement workers
- Community service organizations
- Family agencies on the North Shore
These partners help identify children who could benefit from Rise & Shine.
Support Requests Are Made Confidentially
- Referrals are simple and private.
- Families do not need to publicly apply or disclose sensitive situations.
Support Is Delivered With Dignity
- Kids Life Foundation fulfills each request quietly, respectfully, and with care — ensuring children receive what they need without stigma.
